Fertility / Preconception
As many as 1 in 6 couples have trouble conceiving and have to seek medical assistance. This can be both stressful and expensive. Fertility Reflexology can work in a number of ways to assist natural conception.
Fertility Reflexology treatments are recommended once a week for 4 weeks to balance the hormones, followed then by treatments around ovulation and implantation for women. For men treatment is applied once a week for 8 weeks followed by sessions every 2 weeks.
Hand Reflexology techniques will be provided for you and you could also apply the 100% essential oil cream blend specifically tailored for Fertility. Supplements, exercise, diet and lifestyle advice guide is also given. Charting temperature on a daily basis is an essential tool used and provides vital clues of hormone imbalances and helps to pinpoint ovulation to give the best chance for success.
Stress has been shown to have a major impact to the balance of hormones in the body of both men and women. Hormonal imbalance has been shown to adversely affect fertility. Reflexology has been shown to be an effective treatment to reduce stress and to help restore hormonal balance in the body. Although reflexology cannot claim to be a cure for infertility, many couples have found it an effective treatment on their journey to having a baby.
Reflexology can support men & women with their fertility planning, whether the aim is to improve general health, introduce relaxation time to reduce stress levels or to address specific medical health issues.
I have undertaken specialist Fertility Reflexology training- ReproReflexology course by Barbara Scott and registered under the Association of Reproductive Reflexology. I also include Chinese Acupressure points (no needles) to support you in your conception journey. During the treatments I work on the endocrine (hormonal) system and can support couples with particular health issues that can affect fertility, such as:
- Stress – which can have an adverse effect on hormonal balance and fertility
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Low/Poor sperm mobility or morphology
- Fibroids
- Polycystic ovaries
- Endometriosis
- Irregular menstrual cycle
- and can also improve any other underlying conditions which may affect fertility in both men and women
Reflexology can also be used to support individuals or couples who are undergoing assisted conception including Clomid, IUI, IVF or ICSI.
